This apartment, created from the parlor floor of a Victorian house, suffered from a cramped living and dining room, which the owner sought to relieve with a simple addition set atop the addition being planned by his downstairs neighbor.

I came up with a layout that, with the shift of a few partitions, transferred a sizable amount of underutilized space in other areas into the social area, and integrated the kitchen into this room as well.
