The young owner of this charming little Victorian worker's cottage wanted more interior space, but not at the expense of the wonderful yard space behind and to the side of the house.

We found the space, in the existing footprint, by raising the house up just 18 inches; enough to insert a new ground floor that opens out level with the side yard. In addition, by extending the new stair connecting the levels up into the attic, this large additional area was made available for renovation into living space.
