David Baty designed this ultra-compact straw bale dwelling, based on his experience with sailboats, as an exercise in affordable, environmentally friendly basic shelter.

He asked me to make a drawing that communicated its features, and in the process I suggested a few tweaks to the design, of course.

The number of features, including storage, nested into 378 square feet (bale walls included) is amazing.
