Designed for an international relief agency as a replacement for the uninsulated wood houses Mongolians build themselves now, in which a family can spend two-thirds of their winter income for fuel.

When the first two prototypes were built and occupied, visitors at the monthly open house simply could not comprehend, in the coldest capital city in the world, that cooking meals on a small woodstove provided all the heat needed.
